Sales Representative

Immediate Supervisor: Sales Manager


Job Purpose 
This person will be required to carry out all sales activities on designated accounts. Will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction while managing quality of product and service delivery. This position analyzes situation accurately, taking effective action; following written and oral instructions; organize and coordinate work; collect, chart and review statistical data. This includes problem solving, communicating tactfully and effectively, working independently in absence of direct supervision; and the ability at times to work under narrow time constraints.  


Responsibilities

  • Know current inventory lines
  • Communication with the Sales Manager
  • Create client relationships with a focus on developing account sales
  • Attend daily/weekly company meetings
  • Present current and new products and services to current clients
  • Analyze the potential of new product lines for the market
  • Create plan and execute promotions for clients (in conjunction with Inventory Dept)
  • Follow up on sales activity per store location with a focus on growth year over year
  • Maintain Frito Lay rack program

Job Tasks:

  • Responsible for learning current inventory lines as stocked.
  • Report to Sales Manager any updates and queries to the day.
  • Be able to present current and new products and services to current clients.
  • Plan and implement (with managerial assistance) shop merchandising, layout and customer traffic flow so as to maximize sales, customer satisfaction, appearance, image, and ergonomics for store customers. 
  • Responsible for communicating with the customer current and new products/services.
  • Create a plan and execute promotions, displays, and maintaining key locations in high traffic areas. This may include: Participation with advertising and promotional strategy and activities. May be required to build displays of various sizes and heights occasionally.
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships. This includes follow up on sales activity per store location (in person and e-mail communication) with a focus on developing account sales.
  • Manage upkeep and condition of company vehicle, phone, computer, and tablet.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required.
  • Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval.
  • Analyze and report back to sales on the viability of potential new products in the current market with a route to market plan, estimated sales, and growth potential.

Education and Experience

  • Clean police record 
  • High school diploma
  • 2 years’ experience in sales position
  • Valid and clean driver’s license group 2 (standard license). Group 3 is helpful.
  • Drive company vehicles/ Standard drive included
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: excel, word, outlook
  • Understanding of the Point of Sale/ Ordering system: Counterpoint

Communication Requirements
This position requires the individual to read, write, understand and communicate the English language. Must be able to communicate with supervisors and pass information on to other staff. This individual must be able to work in a team environment.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity), hear, and use of fingers
  • Ability to stand, push/pull, climb, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Medium work involves frequent lifting of up to 15-20lbs and on occasion heavier 
    work lifting of 40lbs may be required
  • Drive company vehicles/ Standard drive helpful
  • Ability to work under pressure at times
  • Work in a non-air-conditioned warehouse from time to time
  • Ability to carry lift medium-heavy items

Hours of work

  • Daily shifts will be of a minimum of eight (8) hours plus a 1/2 hour paid lunch plus 
    two (2) 15-minute breaks to be used one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
  • Weekly hours of work normally 40 hours
  • Additional hours are to be negotiated with employer
  • Saturday work as required, Work day is 7a-4pm but adjustments are made to 
    complete sales goals
