Merchandiser
Immediate Supervisor: Sales Manager
Job Purpose
Full time Merchandisers are responsible for merchandising Maedac’s complete line of quality products in local stores. This will include following Maedac’s company standards and procedures for accurately completing the tasks. Individuals will also complete the day by assisting the Maedac warehouse with pulling orders.
Responsibilities
- Know current inventory lines
- Daily interaction with the Sales Manager

Morning:
- Drive company vehicle to off-site allocated locations as assigned on the schedule.
- Meet Maedac delivery person/order to receive order.
- After reviewing back stock and packing shelves, make new order at allocated location using Maedac’s IT handheld equipment.
- Responsible for shelf variety, maintenance, rotation of products, this also includes
maintaining facings of product. - At allocated location collect invoices, credit notes, and at times cash or check.
- Create client relationships with a focus on developing account sales and increasing shelf space.

End of day:
- Return vehicle to Maedac along with Maedac’s IT equipment.
- Prepare for the next day’s orders this may include communicating with the Sales Team.
- Merchandiser is also required to check their company smartphone several times a day.
- Attend daily/weekly company meetings as organized.
Job Tasks:
- Responsible for learning current inventory lines as stocked and their designated locations.
- Daily interaction with Sales Manager and/or team.

Maedac delivery driver or dropped order for receiving. Review back stock and pack shelves following company standards. This includes: shelf variety, shelf maintenance, rotation of products, correct shelf labeling, as well as maintaining the facings of each product. - Make new order using Maedac It equipment (handheld device or smart phone as decided upon by Sales Manager). Maedac products can be located on the sales floor, drink refrigerators, display units or shelves.
- Merchandiser will also review competitors’ products as well as any of Maedac’s products brought in by another company.
- Create client relationships with a focus on developing account sales and increasing shelf space.
- Assist in the assembling and disassembling of promotional materials such as racking, signs, banners, and cardboard displays.

- Return vehicle to Maedac along with Maedac’s IT equipment. Maedac’s IT equipment is to be returned to the designated charging location
- Prepare for the next day’s orders this may include communicating with the Sales Team.
- Merchandiser is also required to check their company smartphone several times a day and reply within the hour.
- Attend daily/weekly company meetings as organized.
Education and Experience
- Preference 23 years of age or older (Due to company insurance requirements driving of company vehicle)
- Individual is to drive company car during the workday
- Clean police record
- High school diploma
- 2 years’ experience as Merchandiser
- Valid and clean driver’s license Group 2 (Group 3 an asset)
- Excel in mathematical skills plus pass Maedac employee test
- Understanding and use of a Point of Sale/ Ordering system: Counterpoint inclusive of populating CRM using an electronic tablet.
- Understanding and use of Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word
Communication Requirements
This position requires the individual to read, understand and communicate the English
language. Must be able to communicate with supervisors and pass information on to other staff. This individual must be able to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity), hear, and use of fingers
- Ability to stand, push/pull, climb, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Medium work involves frequent lifting of up to 15-20lbs and on occasion heavier work lifting may be required
- Drive company vehicles/ Standard drive included
- Ability to work under pressure
- Work in a non-air-conditioned warehouse
Hours of work
- Daily shifts will be of a minimum of eight (8) hours plus a 1/2 hour paid lunch plus two (2)
- 15-minute breaks to be used one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
- Weekly hours of work up to 45
- Additional hours are to be negotiated with employer
- Saturday work is usual unless indicated by Sales Manager

IT equipment:
- Smart Phone
- Android tablet
- Head phones (if needed)
- Company email
All IT equipment is assigned to an employee through an IT agreement form that is signed
by the employee. This agreement shares the replacement costs of the equipment along
with the policies for using the equipment.
